So one day he told to the staff: "If I'll not get better name by 5 o'clcok today, our company's name will be anything he likes..." so at 5 o'clcok nobody comeup with better name, and he was eating APPLE that time... so he keep the name of the company 'Apple Computers'

4) Bill Hewlett(L) and Dave Packard(R) of HP. Behind them in the picture is the famous HP Garage. Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard tossed a coin to decide whether the company they founded would be called Hewlett-Packard or Packard-Hewlett. And the winner was NOT Bill... the winner was Dave.

SUN is the acronym for Stanford University Network .

9) Linus Torvalds of Linux Operating System Linus Torvalds originally used the Minix OS on his system which he replaced by his OS. Hence the working name was Linux (Linus' Minix). He thought the name to be too egotistical and planned to name it Freax (free + freak + x). His friend Ari Lemmk encouraged Linus to upload it to a network so it could be easily downloaded. Ari gave Linus a directory called linux on his FTP server, as he did not like the name Freax. Linus like that directory name and he kept the name of his new OS to LINUX...

10) Picture taken when INFY was started. This picture was found in the album of the clerk who took this picture... The picture was with that clerk only because it was his birthday and he just told everyone to stand together at one place to take a pic. He borrow a camera from his friend and as he can not tell any of his boss to take pic, so he took pic by himself... even it was his birthday.

Passanger Review

These days it’s quite argumentative that the whole Malayalam film industry is lacking standards and is in its past its best... we are compromising the definition of good film to suit to the mediocre and second-rated films out in the theatres so that at least we will get a fistful of films in the good films category…but this time the viewer can take a break and say hey, this movie is good. And surely the film shown justice the viewers in many ways may be in all the ways…

Passenger, with a strong message stands out and is a must watch movie... its shot differently and the director never tried for any peppy masala numbers to keep the viewer stick to the chair...hats off to his courage… A long way to go for the novice director Renjith Shankar

The film is simple and smooth…the film is about the accidental happening that occurs to the life of a train passenger Srinivasan...one day of events... the way dileep walks into his life...

The shots are taken simple and beautifully from the everyday life with no added gaudiness of extra color or camera work… the suspense is added only in a light dosage...not in breathtaking taking amount... still it is enough to keep u in the chairs…

Dileep and Srinivasan is again with Midas touch...they are doing theater role well… the comedy although it’s just for a very small time , will surely bring to smile to ur lips..All others are doing their roles perfectly…

The last word is that the film is a must watch movie…It’s not a hi-fi entertaining fast movie….it’s simple...its smooth flowing … and its true of its own .. it’s a little slow moving movie…but it got the pace of what a normal men’s one day could be.. No actions, no stunts, not even a song (L)…. But the film is strong with the strong message and a rating of 3-3.5 /5 is no exaggeration….

Jai Ho - A Review on A R R 's live in concert

I am really happy to write a review on ARR's live in concert Jai Ho. My lifetime wish, my dream come true on May 3 @ Corporation stadium, Calicut, that I saw maestro and heard his voice.

Jai Ho, the very first concert after receiving the double Oscar. The concert was so enthusiastic and awesome one. But there were some troubles with the sound system, in the early minutes of the show. From my point of view one of major drawback is the orchestr. The orchestra on the stage was not the one I expected, that is A R Rahman's orchestra. The superb orchestra of ARR was replaced by a few inexperienced fellows. Only the DJ person rocked. He was superb in mixing the songs.

The intorduction of ARR was gud. Some of the songs sung by maestro are
O Saya (Slumdog Millionaire)
Athiradee (Sivaji, with Sayanora)
Urvasi (Kaathalan)
Musthafa (Kaathal Desam)
Khwaja Mere (Jodha Akbar)
Arziyan (Dilli 6)
Yuva (Aayudha Ezhutu)
Jai Ho
Vandemataram
From the above list Khwajaji and Arziyan were too gud. He was in religious Muslim costumes with a cap on his head, with a harmonium. 'Musthafa' was very interactive, that he told us, the viewers, to sing with him.

Hariharan, also, was very interactive. He told viewers to sing with him and finally he diverted that into the song Ay Hairathee from Guru. He also spoke in malayalam, was funny.

ARR's sister A R Rahana also appeared on the stage, to talk about their father. She invited Chithra to sing one of the songs composed by R K Shekhar, their father.

Atlast ARR sung the song Jai Ho and deviated it to Vandemataram. Overall the show was so awesome and the audience gave a gud support. But it will be much better if it was held at Kaloor stadium, I think.

Singers Performing in 'Jai Ho' - A R Rahman's Concert

Being a die hard fan of maestro A R Rahman for 12+ years am eagerly waiting for the concert by maestro himself on May 3 at Kozhikode. The opportunity is at my door steps and I am trying to utilise it so that I can see the asian mozart, in real. Though the concert gives a far view of him, I am very happy to see him and to hear his voice, which is one of my life time wish.

Stepping into the details....

Normally, a Rahman show will have ten big singers and 40-odd musicians. However, for this show, we feel it might be bigger. We will get a clear idea after we meet the man himself.

A R Rahman to perform for HIV+ kids

Rahman to perform for HIV+ kids

Malayalam superstar Suresh Gopi has a new mission in his life - a school for HIV positive children. And joining him is double Oscar winner A.R. Rahman who will stage a musical night in Kerala for free.
'Jai Ho' musical night is scheduled for May 3 at the Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode. Rahman and his 103-artiste group will perform in front of an expected 50,000 strong crowd. The proceeds of the night will go towards the building of the school.

'We expect to raise Rs.15 crore (Rs.150 million) from the sale of tickets and sponsorships. After meeting the expenses, we target a figure of Rs.10 crore (Rs.100 million), which would be the first capital for the school,' Gopi told IANS Tuesday on the sidelines of a function held for the sale of tickets.

The programme is being held under the initiative of Global Kerala Initiative-Keraleeyam, an NGO of which Gopi is a patron.

'The ideal location for the school should be somewhere in the central districts of the state. It will cater not only to the HIV positive children from Kerala but also from neighbouring states. If everything goes as planned, the school should be ready in two years time,' Gopi said.

Gopi said that he has already spoken to state Education Minister M.A. Baby and got an 'excellent response' from him.

According to Gopi, there are close to 100 HIV positive kids in state.

'What wrong have these hapless kids done to get this dreaded disease? Their sufferings begin right from the day they are born and even before they learn to begin their lives. They are shunned by the society for no fault of theirs,' pointed out Gopi.

The proposed school would be fully residential with all amenities and will also have the best of faculty, he added.

The actor said that the NGO will distribute 'hundis' (copper vessels) among the people to encourage them to save at least Re.1 a day for the project.

'We will be distributing 1 lakh (100,000) hundis to people and they will be opened after a year. This will also be added to the kitty for the school project,' Gopi said.

2 Harihar Nagar- Review

The film starts in 1980 in front of a church where the friendship begins. First half is for comedy and second half is dedicated to adventure. Second half have many twists which makes people glue to the cinema. The climax portion also happens to be in the front of same church where the four friends united. The four characters look as if they jumped from In Harihar Nagar to this film. No wonder as these actors were acting the same way for 20 years or more. Jagadheesh steels the show in first half as his comedies are working after years. But sometimes we can expect what is going to happen next.Don’t expect this film will exceed all your expectations, but it won’t let you down also. This is a film you can go with your family and everyone will be satisfied. All said and done, the film is successful and Lal was able to satisfy viewers. Also this film proves what was Lal's contribution in Siddique-Lal team.

Verdict : Very Good

Sagar Alias Jacky Review

And finally the much expected film Sagar Alias Jacky has been landed. On the releasing day itself the search for the review for this one, among the hot trends make its place as fourth. From that fact itself its very clear that how the audience is eagerly waiting for the review. So don't worry here it goes.

After a long gap of 21 years, mohanlal's everloving character is back. All the credit goes to Amal Neerad. This time also he has done a sincere job.

The success of a film depends on how it fulfills the audience's expectations and how it entertains them. The film has all the facts which keeps the audience entertaining all the two and a half hours. And succeeded to fulfill almost 80% of their expectations. It has got superb visual impact and goes in parallel as that of Big B. So after the first day itself it seems that, this time too Sagar (alias "Jacky") has a long way to go.

No need to say, but Mohanlal is simply great this time too. Only he can do this, even after 21 years he still has all the essence of Jacky. Also its a pleasure to see Shobana again. And Bhavana as usual seems to be more pretty. The audience will accept it for sure, even if there's a doubt whether it has strong story line.

Rating given is 3.5/5.

As I promised on my earlier post to give the updates on our ever time hero A R Rahman's live concert at Trivandrum,

Here is the latest update of the show, for which we all are waiting eagerly for.
But this time sorry for all the fans who planned to see our hero at Trivandrum, The show has been postponed to Calicut on May 3.
And this time its finalized as the official website of A R Rahman published that the live concert will be on Corporation Stadium, Kozhikode, May 3, 2009.

As the reasons behind postponing the show, they are pointing out that,
the Corporation Stadium here can accommodate more people almost double than the previous one.
Also the current venue is more closer to the biggest cities. Its postponed from April 14 to May 3rd since the
former day is two days prior to the first phase of the polling in the State.
But still they haven't announced the ticket information.

And one more update is that he will be coming to Cochin 28th of this month to announce more about the show.
Check out for more details here once it is announced finally.

'Ritu' - the film

"Ritu" shooting of the upcoming movie from the great director Shayama Prasad who has always been loyal to what he make, started at technopark.

For Ritu he has dropped the idea of scripting published novels or plays and has chosen an original screenplay by a debutant writer Joshua Newtonn, an international award-winning journalist

When I heard Shyama Prasad is planning to shoot his new film in technopark and even when he visited our office as a part of looking for the location, I never thought my office will be one among their location. But it was true and finally they started the production stage of Ritu on 2nd of March at my office.

Really it was such a nice experience to be on a film set with total freedom to observe as much as I possibly could. The moments when the camera's are rolling, all the flashing light and to know how each scene is moulding up. I wondered how much effort they are putting on a single shot. I never know a single shot is an outcome of a lot of things.

Got a chance to closely watch the crew which includes one at the top and to the ones at the other extreme, the assisstants, the sound artists and those around the camera's . These people compared to the others seems to be more social.

And the film cast includes Rima kallingal (Miss kerala frist runner up and
also the Thakadimi fame) and most of them are new faces and with all of them we got a chance to mingle with and got a chance to take some snaps with out any hesitation from any of them.

And I am just sharing those moments with all.

Atlast Auction happened and Vijay Mallya buys Gandhi's belongings.

Atlast Vijay Mallya buys Gandhi's items for $1.8 million.

The items offered at auction

Ofcoz im pleased with the news, atlast the belongings of our Mahatma will be coming home. But just a few words before that.

Its very disgusting that the personal items of our father of nation has reached the auction table. Also our Govt has failed to stop the auction and after being greatly criticized it finally happened. But still didnt you feel these items should be kept in a museum as these items are simply something that is greatly valued.
Atleast feels pleasure as its back to where it is supposed to be at.
